mPass is live !
Update: If you are having issues with mPass then please send email to onlinebooking@airnz.co.nz. The nice folk at Air New Zealand will be happy to help you :)
I’m quite pleased with this bit of work: mPass allows you to download your boarding passes for Air New Zealand flights onto your mobile phone. It generates a bar code that you can then scan at their kiosks to check-in or at the gates to board. Pretty cool if I must say so my self. Its all part of Air New Zealands new domestic travelling experience.
If you want to download mPass then visit http://airnz.mobi using your web browser on your mobile phone and click on the “Download mPass” link.
Here are some screen shots of the application running that captured off my Nokia N73:
Also if you are at the airport and use the new gates try and get a look-see at the application with all the pretty coloured cells (which show the status of passengers on a flight) that is attached to the gate, I worked on that one too :)
If you are an Airpoints member then check out http://myairnz.com this was put together by some of my team mates. It gives you instant access to your bookings, airpoints info, weather, news, arrivals and departure times, events and much more.

Not working on my Iphone!
Ah yes. I’m afraid that iPhones do not support Java (J2ME) applications (yet) :(
Hi Does this work on a blackberry as it doesn’t seem to be working jsut get a can’t connect constantly?
It sure does. Unfortunately we have found that corporate security policies configured on the Blackberry server (BES) often block access to the Internet for installed applications.
I would suggest you contact your Blackberry admin guys and see if you can get them to change the policy for your profile.
There is an Iphone version :D
Yes there is. I completely forgot to update this post :)

Has anybody had success isnatlling mPass onto the LG KU990 phone? Mine stalls and comes up with message “Received Content Does not Match” ! Thanks
Just can’t get it to work on my Blackberry Bold. I have BIS so no corporate firewall issue.
Just keep getting message “Unable to Retrieve Booking”
mmm, since BIS is supplied by Vodafone you might need to have a chat with them about what type of access they allow to the Internet….
Will pass on your details to someone at Air NZ.
Same problem on my blackberry 8310…Unable to retrieve booking, would appreciate if you could refer my contact to Air NZ also.
Thanks
Unable to retrieve booking also, have you had any luck sorting this problem out on Blackberry? Mine is BIS. Thanks
I am wondering if the mPass app is going to be released for Android, have just updated to an HTC Desire and would love to have the mPass app working on this phone.
Many thanks
@Richard I believe that this is getting looked at but I don’t know for sure.
I’ve just tried downloading MPass onto an HTC Touch Pro 2 running Win Mobile 6.5. I get a login screen but don’t appear to be able to insert text into it. Is there any sort of help resource for the app?
Hi I have a blackberry bold – same issue with not being able to retrieve the booking – did anyone have any joy in sorting this?
Bump. I can’t get Mpass to work on my Bold 9700 either. Have used Mpass to great effect on a Ipod Touch. Anyone had any luck?
Hi, mPass ran perfectly on my Curve 8310 but will not run on Torch 9800. The message I get every time is: “Sorry This information is currently unavailable. Please try again later”. All permissions are set to ‘Allow’. Do I need to do anything to the MIDP groups or MIDP JSRs permissions?
Hi
No luck on my BlackBerry Bold either – just get the ‘Unable to retrieve booking’ message when I try to refresh my flight list.
I get “Sorry, this information is currently unavailable” when I try an airpoints logon.
This app did work briefly on the same phone about a year ago
Please email onlinebooking@airnz.co.nz and see if they can help.
Well this clearly doesn’t work reliably with Blackberry. Shame.
Hey Brett, please email onlinebooking@airnz.co.nz and see if they can help.
